10:00 Sunday 12th September 2021
The relevant Covid regulations and the extent of potential restrictions are not known at time of publication.
We will meet at the Norden Park and Ride just off the roundabout approximately ¼ mile before the castle car park (that car park being at the National Trust Centre at the base of the castle mound just before Corfe village itself, so if you are there, you have gone too far) and the Norden Park and Ride is the map reference given above. Please note that there is a car parking charge payable at meters in the Park and Ride facility. The start time will be the usual 10.00am roll out of the car park. Please allow a bit of extra time to get to the start as even in Covid times, the roads around here can get very busy.
From here we will ride around the Purbecks region, stopping for lunch at a convenient watering hole, taking in the sights and generally making a day of it without trying to achieve any distance records, the emphasis being on having a fun day out with friends.
This ride is not recommended for newcomers where hills and distance may prove to be their downfall. For our regular attendees, the tracks are reasonably good although there are some chalk ascents and descents that will get slippery if they get wet.
