Hatchet Moor Ride 26th September

Post by IanTaylor » Sun Sep 19, 2021 1:22 pm

THE COORDINATES GIVEN BELOW FOR THE START CAR PARK ARE CORRECT. HOWEVER, ALTHOUGH THE CAR PARK IS SITUATED ON HATCHET MOOR IT IS CALLED BEAULIEU HEATH CAR PARK. THERE IS A HATCHET MOOR CAR PARK BUT IT IS NOT WHERE WE ARE STARTING FROM :?

HENCE AIM FOR THE COORDINATES BELOW BUT IGNORE THE SIGNS TO HATCHET MOOR CAR PARK WHICH IS APPROX. 1KM NORTH EAST OF BEAULIEU HEATH CAR PARK. THOSE COMING FROM THE BEAULIEU/HATCHET POND DIRECTION SHOULD CARRY ON PAST HATCHET MOOR CAR PARK TO THE NEXT CAR PARK ON THEIR RIGHT WHICH IS BEAULIEU HEATH CAR PARK.

Note this is NOT the usual Hatchet Pond start point but is relatively close by at Beaulieu Heath car park (on Hatchet Moor) where the model airplanes are flown from.

Aim for SU 359 004, w3w /// uncle.neon.pits

Usual protocols apply.

If you have tested positive or are exhibiting symptoms of Covid, or feel unwell, you must not attend the ride.

Following the advice of our affiliated cycling organisation, whilst numbers attending a ride may be unlimited, individual ride groups will be limited to 15. In practice this should not be a problem for us.

PLEASE POST IF YOU ARE COMING and indicate if you are a non-member. Would potential ride leaders also post so we have you in the overall number.

AND

You are advised to wear face masks/coverings in crowded settings and be mindful that coronavirus is still endemic in the population, that the possibility of transmission still exists and that the virus can be contracted regardless of vaccination status. To this end we would ask that you continue to adhere to our amended guidelines to ensure we stay Covid safe:

Note club rides are available for people who self-regulate, ride leaders will not be policing the following but if you consistently breach them you may be asked to leave the ride. They are there for your safety and the safety of others.

• 2m spacing at all times during rides, extending to 4m if riding in front or behind someone.
• Each rider must carry a spare tube in case of a puncture or suitable kit if riding tubeless.
• Each rider must have disposable gloves and a face covering in case of having to attend to falls. Carrying hand sanitiser is also strongly recommended.
• Follow the ride leaders directions in case of a puncture/fall to ensure the minimum number of people are involved.

Thanks and have a great ride

I can probably rustle up a route and lead a group if need be. It might not be quite as lively as my usual medium paced rides due to my marathon training run the day before, so let's say a 'sociable' medium pace for this one.....

I’m in for the medium social, yet slightly lively with a dash of frisky.
Thanks

Morning All,

I am new to the club and would love to join for a ride on Sunday, especially if it's a more sociable one, it's been a while since I've done any proper biking. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to give a fellow rider a lift from Southampton, unfortunately I'm currently without a car.
If not, I can get the train/bus, but a lift would be very much appreciated!

Thanks, Sarah

Hi All

I will be there. If there are too many in the leisurley group, perhaps I can form a splinter group as we go.
