CALLING ALL RIDERS – don’t miss out on the Isle of Wight’s ultimate cycling event.

The End2End (and back again) cycle challenge across the breadth of the Isle of Wight will return this year on 15th August.

Cycling both on and off-road, the ride held in aid of Mountbatten, returns with four routes available for cyclists of all abilities. Experienced riders and newcomers will be able to challenge themselves on the course of their choice. From Culver Down in the east to Tennyson Down in the west, take in peaks of up to 150m enroute and up to 92km of beautiful countryside. Amongst the routes, there are options for a half or quarter length ride so there is truly something for everyone.

This is a very special event which can be testing, but over a stunning course where you can enjoy the company of likeminded cyclists. Come and see ‘the Island’ at its best! Money raised from entry fees goes towards our work supporting people experiencing death, dying and bereavement, so not only is it a great challenge, but it is also helping us make a difference.

I am up for this if anyone else is. It was great when I did it 2 years ago with Steve S and friends (think I preferred the old September date though, this will be the day after I'm back from holiday  )

Great :) I'm definitely going to enter this... when I've fixed at least one of my bikes  I don't think I'll be on my XC bike of choice though as seems I have to send the shock off, and the holiday probably won't help!

So what are the logistics then?

Ferry to Ryde and then cycle the 10 miles to the start? Or is there a better plan?

I assume you will go across in the morning?

Which route do you fancy doing? 3 to choose from. 92km + 10 miles each way to the ferry seems like a big day, or is that just me being a woss?

Is it 10 miles to the start? We got the train and rode a few miles last time, and then we rode back because they wouldn't let us on the train! So er... yeah, the whole thing! (of course I might think differently if I can't take my XC bike... )

Great stuff, and my shock's on its way back, let's do this :)

I thought they'd have their new trains by now (the reason we weren't allowed on last time was a limit of 4 bikes per train) but don't think they do quite yet...
