Tommy's Ride - 10th November

Post by Pen&Paul » Thu Oct 25, 2018 7:39 pm

Howdy peeps,

A couple of us girls have entered this Trailbreak event:

http://www.trailbreak.co.uk/tommys-ride/

It's not a competition, although we will be timed and will get a finishers medal at the end. It's a great area to ride, and is in aid of a good cause, the Royal British Legion. It's on Saturday 10th November and there are three distances to choose from. We've entered the full distance (55km) on the basis that it was only £1 more than the middle distance (40km) and gives us the option to do either on the day.

It would be good to get a gang together, so if you'd like to join us, go ahead and enter online, and post on here so we know to meet you at the event HQ on the day.

Pen, i am interested in this ride but will need to confirm a babysitter prior to booking.
Timing wise I see the start is between 9 and 9.30 and an event finish of 3.30. Would that be your plan as well?

Hi Rob,

I guess it would be the plan....to stick within the schedule set by the organisers. However, us girls are flexible so if you needed to tweak the timings, we could probably do that to fit with your needs.

I'll want to start at close to 9am to have a chance of finishing by 3.30pm if doing the 50km route.....

Okay Rob, that's a shame, but thanks for letting us know. Maybe see you at Four Marks on Sunday.

Interested... I see its £2 surcharge for entering in the last week and £3 on the day, so I know which one I'd do. Anyone going from Southampton going and want to share a lift?

Hi Pete,

There are a few of us on this ride, I think the nearest to you in Southampton is Sue Marsland (Chandlers Ford) and she may be happy to lift-share. I'm getting a lift with David from Hayling Island (although he doesn't know it yet!!).

To anyone else who is going, we're all gonna meet at the start line at 9am, ready to ride. If you want to ride with us, post on here that you're coming and that will ensure that we don't set off without you.
