Dorset Rough Riders XC Enduro, Wareham Forest, 10th of May 2009 Where: Wareham Forest Sika trail carparkEntry options: Race description: The Wareham Forest Spring XC Enduro. For the first time we are proud to offer you the Spring Enduro in Wareham Forest. Previously organised by Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers, it has gathered a good following of riders of all abilities. We have created a course that is challenging without being too intimidating with a mixture of flowing singletrack and fast paced trails.
Four separate categories are being held.
At 8:30am, we will kick off with the Kids doing two laps on a short (1.3m) course, the youths will go off at 9am, for two laps of the full course, followed by the "have a go" event at 10am, a taster for anyone who would like to experience a cross-country race but for whom a two hour race looks a bit intimidating, this race is open to anyone over 16. At 11 am we will have the start of the main race, a two hour enduro over a 8.5 km course. This main race also counts for the Wessex Cycle Racing League which means WXCRL members finishing in the top 15 get points!
Categories: - Kids (8-12yr olds) 2 laps, short course - start 08:30, £3 in advance, £5 on the day.
- Youth (13-15yr olds) 2 laps, full course - start 09:00, £8 in advance, £10 on the day

We aim to provide some basic catering (tea and cake)
General information:For those keen to check out the course before the start of the WXCRL event, it will be possible to pre-ride the course once the kids race has finished, from around 0900.
Please be aware, the course has been approved by the Forestry Commission after great care has been taken with the choice of trails. There are many parts of Wareham Forest classified as SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest), please keep to the marked course whilst either sighting or racing to ensure the sensitive and in some parts unique environment is not damaged.

The Marin Roughride 2009 - Sunday, June 14th 2009
www.roughride.co.uk
(Press Release) Just to let you know:
This year's Marin Roughride is on Sunday June 14th, one week later
than 2008. Marin are providing spot prizes and a test fleet which
will be available from Saturday lunchtime onwards. Torq are on board
with drinks and a stand.
Last year entries were up 20%, this year entries are running 50% up
again! Perhaps a sign that people are planning to spend more riding
time in the UK, Hell of the North is already full...
The event is a great ride across the open hills of the Welsh borders
and attracts riders from all over the country and abroad. Our riders
return year after year to pit themselves against the demanding routes
which vary each year. The route is across open moorland tracks
available for the event by express permission of some really nice
landowners which allows the the smallest proportion of road for any
single loop off road event in England and Wales.
.The atmosphere is delightfully laid back and welcoming. The marshalls
are really friendly and helpful. The family friendly campsite is on
the edge Hergest Ridge, above the tiny market town of Kington on the
welsh border and has wonderful views of the surrounding hills.
The event costs £27.50 for advance entry, which includes camping,
event tee shirt and post ride meal, courtesy of Wilfs! Visit the
website (www.roughride.co.uk) for further details and entry.
Cheers from Nick and Jerry
