Exmoor Weekend away May 18th 2018

Postby sambath on Mon Oct 09, 2017 9:10 pm

Hi All

Proposing a return club trip to Exford Youth Hostel after our successful weekend in September 2017

Hostel beds £26.00 per night per person in private shared rooms

Camping £12.50 per night per person

The plan is to meet on Friday 18th May at the Quantock Hills and do a ride of approx 3 hrs depending on weather group preference

http://www.mtbtrails.info/Trail_Venue.a ... eNumber=86

http://www.mtbtrails.info/Trail_Venue_M ... 4025997789

Suggest meet at staple Plain car park TA44DQ

1.30PM ready to ride

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Sta ... -3.2644576

There is a Murco service station on the A39 just around the corner from carpark for refreshments before or after

http://murco.co.uk/stations/st-audries-service-station/

The Hostel will be approx 45 minutes drive away after the ride from this car park

http://www.exfordhostel.co.uk/get-in-touch

Check in to the Hostel from 5.00PM

Saturday morning Breakfast can be purchased from White Horse Cost £7.95

http://www.exmoor-whitehorse.co.uk/dine/90/bar

Will need to let them know the Friday night numbers for breakfast

Self cater for breakfast is also fine as Hostel has a kitchen area

Suggest I book at table nearer the time for evening meal on the Friday night when numbers are confirmed (will check if any pre ordering needed)

If okay the same for Saturday night

Saturday day ride from Hostel a few more hills and a lunch stop.

Sunday 1/2 ride like a normal club ride finish for 1pm meet for lunch somewhere before heading home

Medium group and a more enthusiastic group will be available, and routes & groups to be decided
Will try for sunshine and dusty trails but can’t promise !!

Once you confirm you would like to come we will be asking for the payment promptly to be paid directly to club funds I realise it’s a while away but it’s a popular time of year and would be nice to have time to confirm numbers.

Any questions I’ll get back to you

Steve

Hi Steve - in confirmation of talk today - please take it that Linda and I wish to attend --- with intention to ride in the relaxed / steady group [ even if that's myself leading only two or three ].
Linda was out with couple of biking neighbours yesterday and that gave encouragement to come today. Ride went well today so that decided us on Exmoor. So now its an incentive to us to keep the legs going for yet another newforce adventure :D

Thanks for organising this Steve.

Paul and I are planning on joining you. We've just booked ourselves into a B&B which is 5 mins up the road. We'd like to join in the evening meals at the pub, but will do our own thing for breakfast.

Im in (plus my 2 kids). Our plan is to do our own thing Saturday daytime but if anyone wants a second ride, or just a ride down the shops on Saturday afternoon we will tag along.
Wont be joining you in the pub in the evening as this is more adult time.

That's cool Rob - in your eco campervan is it?
You think we might embarrass you in the pub??
