1st Aid Session

At committee we have been discussing the desirability of running a 1st Aid training session. It is something we have done a couple of times over the years and we think it would be good to repeat the training not only as a refresher for people who have attended previously but also for members who missed out on the previous sessions.

We do not want to go to the trouble of organising something if there is no appetite for it amongst the membership, so can you please respond with a YES or No so that we can gauge if there will be a demand for a session.

It would be an evening session, probably lasting an hour or so and will involve learning about medical/surgical dressing of superficial wounds, how to recognise signs of stroke and heart attack, what to do for skeletal breaks, dealing with shock, and working with medical mannekins practising resuscitation techniques. The first course we set up was held at a school in Lymington, and the most recent one (a few years ago now) was held in the New Forest Inn which lent itself to a convivial evening's tuition.
